The holiday season is here, and it’s time for year-end giving and granting. Here are a few reminders to keep in mind as you finalize your year-end plans.
Make sure all donations are completed before December 31, 2024. Gifts by cash, check, or credit card must be initiated by December 31 to be credited for the 2024 tax year. Gifts sent by mail must be postmarked no later than December 31.
Online gifts can be made until 11:59 p.m. central time on December 31 and still be credited in 2024. Click here to make an online gift now.
If you plan to give a gift of appreciated assets, including stock or IRA distributions, initiate it before December 16th to ensure it is credited for the 2024 tax year. Notify us of any gifts from more complicated instruments as soon as possible to ensure they are completed on time.
