IMPACT FUNDS

Supporting ever-changing community needs

Our communities are forever changing. Tomorrow will be much different from today. Providing our region with resources to adapt and respond is vital to their success. That’s why gifts to Impact Funds are powerful—they provide flexibility that enables Galesburg Community Foundation to seize opportunities to meet the demands and challenges of today’s rapidly changing environment.

Impact Funds are a great option if you want to support immediate, ongoing, and emerging community needs. At Galesburg Community Foundation, you can give to the existing Impact Fund, or you can create your own.

Giving to the existing Impact Fund or establishing your own is an easy and strategic way for you to help build a healthy community. By giving discretion to Galesburg Community Foundation to address the most pressing issues in our communities, you can be assured your gift will be maximized for impact and that your investment will make a difference.

Impact Funds at work

Galesburg Community Foundation’s Impact Fund is comprised of unrestricted resources that allow us to fund opportunities such as our annual grant cycle, The Turnout. These grants provide funding to local nonprofits, like Gordon Behrents Senior Center, so they can provide valuable programs to serve the residents who call Knox and Warren Counties home.

What are the benefits?

  • Flexible. You can make a gift during your lifetime or through a bequest in your will.
  • Impactful. Because you set no restrictions on the use of your gift, it enables the Community Foundation to do what they do best—assess community needs and respond by awarding grants to the nonprofit organizations that lead our community’s most critical work.
  • Financial. Your gifts receive the maximum tax benefits allowed by law. In addition to cash, the Community Foundation accepts gifts of securities, real estate, and other personal property, which may help you avoid capital gains taxes on appreciated assets.
